Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange (1971) was one of the most controversial films ever made. Warner Bros. produced extremely limited promotional merchandise for a film that Kubrick eventually pulled from UK distribution. The Malcolm McDowell imagery — bowler hat, white boiler suit, single fake eyelash — became one of cinema's most recognizable visual languages.
