Television's Marquee Moon (1977) is the most technically accomplished album of the punk era — Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd's interlocking guitar work created a new vocabulary for rock. Elektra Records produced extremely limited promotional merchandise for an album that was a commercial failure but influenced every indie guitarist for the next 40 years.
