A-POC (A Piece of Cloth) — Issey Miyake's collaboration with Dai Fujiwara, launched in 1999 — is one of the most radical concepts in fashion history: a tube of knitted fabric from which the wearer cuts their own garment, eliminating waste and creating a direct relationship between maker and wearer. The technology used a computer-controlled loom to create a single piece of fabric containing an entire outfit.
