DESCRIPTION
The M-65 field jacket — introduced in 1965 — is the most influential military garment in fashion history. Its transition from Vietnam-era military service to countercultural symbol to high fashion reference has been the defining journey of utilitarian clothing's relationship with style. The original Vietnam-era M-65s with the contract tags from the mid-1960s to mid-1970s are the most collectible. The four-pocket design, the hood-in-collar system, and the draw-cord waist became templates for virtually every technical jacket that followed. Value: $200–$800.
