Evisu was founded by Hidehiko Yamane in Osaka in 1991, hand-painting the seagull logo on each pair of jeans using repro shuttle looms. The No.1 Lot 2000 from the founding years — before mass production and before the brand reached international markets — is the rarest Evisu item. Each pair was hand-painted by Yamane himself in the early years. The mythological seagull logo (a reference to the Ebi-su deity) and the original Osaka label make these foundational Japanese denim artifacts. Value: ¥80,000–¥500,000.
