DESCRIPTION
Filson's Mackinaw Cruiser is one of the oldest continuously produced American work jackets. C.C. Filson Company began making work clothing for Klondike Gold Rush prospectors in 1897. The Mackinaw Cruiser — introduced in 1914 — uses a heavy wool/nylon blend that is virtually indestructible. The four-pocket design, the bellows chest pockets, and the heavy metal snaps have remained unchanged for over a century. Pre-1960 examples with the original Seattle label command significant premiums. Value: $400–$1,200.
