BAPE First Camo Tee 1993

A Bathing Ape was founded by NIGO in 1993 in Ura-Harajuku. The brand's first camo pattern — designed to be deliberately different from military camouflage — appeared on tees that were produced in extremely limited quantities for the Nowhere boutique on Jingumae. The combination of the BAPE camo, the ape head logo, and the Planet of the Apes references created a visual language that influenced streetwear globally for decades.
