DESCRIPTION
Levi's 505 from the Red Line era (1967-1983) represents the peak of American selvedge denim production before the shift to open-end spinning. The "red line" refers to the selvedge edge visible when cuffed. The 505's straight leg cut was the template for the entire 1970s denim aesthetic. Pre-1975 examples with the original Red Tab, capital E, and selvedge construction are among the most important vintage denim artifacts. Value: $800–$3,000.
