574 "Made in USA" 1988

The New Balance 574 — introduced in 1988 as a more affordable version of the 576 — became the definitive "dad shoe" and the template for an entire aesthetic. Made in USA examples from the first decade of production, with the heavier suede construction and the original NB logo placement, are significantly different from later versions. The 574's rehabilitation by Stüssy, Supreme, and J.Crew in the 2010s created retroactive collector interest. Value: $400–$1,500.
