Bruce Kilgore's Air Force 1 (1982) was the first basketball shoe to use Nike Air technology — and the first shoe to be retroed, in 1986, because demand never died. The clean white on white colorway, the perforated toe box, and the padded ankle collar created the most versatile silhouette in sneaker history. Original 1982-84 USA-made pairs predate the retro era and the shoe's adoption as a streetwear staple. Value: $3,000–$12,000.
