Line 6 Replica Trench Coat AW2000

Margiela's Line 6 "Replica" collection — launched in 2000 — was a conceptual exercise in which exact replicas of vintage garments found in secondhand shops were reproduced at original price. Each piece came with a card documenting the original garment's provenance. The trench coats from this line occupy a unique philosophical space: they are simultaneously originals and copies, new and vintage, authentic and fake. The replica label reads "We Are Not Going to Save the World By Making Three Sweaters" — Margiela's rebuke of fast fashion before fast fashion existed as a concept. Value: $2,000–$6,000.
